Our mission is to always create a welcoming and supportive environment, for athletes of all ages and abilities, to achieve their goals together.
Our youngest member is 7, our oldest member is 74. This makes us beyond happy to see.

John Maxwell, Owner & Head Coach
John is proud to say he is a L3 CrossFit Coach. Having coached and run boxes all over the world, he is passionate about building coaches and nurturing his members to achieve their goals.
John ensures the box runs smoothly day to day.

Chrissy Birtwistle, Owner & Coach
Chrissy is has always dreamed of running her own box and passing on her love of CrossFit to a community of likeminded people. Now that dream is a reality. Beyond coaching, Chrissy manages the business, the brand, and the end to end member experience.

Chloe Bolton, Weightlifting Coach
Chloe is an L2 CF Coach and British Weightlifting L2 Coach. She has coached at CrossFit Wrexham since 2019, going full time in 2021, setting aside her career as a nurse to focus on coaching. Now she focuses purely on Weightlifting.

Tom Kelly, Coach
Tom is a L2 CrossFit Coach and a competitive athlete - he builds stunning houses by day and imparts his CrossFit wisdom by night. With a heart of gold, he is the life and soul of CrossFit Wrexham.

Claire Royce, Coach
Claire never thought she’d be a coach, but when given the opportunity she took to it like a duck to water. She is passionate about making CrossFit accessible to the more mature amongst us, and carves time out in her week to come train and coach. When she’s not at box she leads a compassionate team of palliative care nurses across Cheshire. She’s a local hero.

Stacey Walter, L1 CF Coach & Gymnastics Coach
Stacey first started CrossFit at John’s box in London, he got the bug and was convinced to complete his L1. Since then he’s never looked back. With an ambition to make coaching his full time career, Stacey is working with John to gain experience. Outside the gym, Stacey has a successful career in roofing and home renovations.

CrossFit
Our CrossFit classes are accessible to all. We follow CAP Programming from CrossFit HQ, it includes classic benchmark workouts, strength and skill work, combined with partner and team workouts too. Everything you need to get healthier, fitter and more body confident.

Gymnastics
We offer gymnastics classes for members to focus on developing the strength and coordination needed to be proficient at the high skill bodyweight movements - from muscle ups to push ups and everything in between. You can access these classes if you have the Speciality Class Bolt on!

Weightlifting
Weightlifting classes focus on the two olympic lifts - snatch and clean & jerk. Both developing the technique and positional strength to develop good movement mechanics for our members. You can get access when you have the Speciality Class Bolt on too!

SWEAT
Our Sweat classes are designed to keep you moving for a full 45 mins, with only short breaks for rest and coaching. It’s a lower skill class, no barbells or complex gymnastics, just a good fun sweat session.
